AGM 2022

Board Directors are asked to attend Board Meetings (usually four per year), in person in Sussex or virtual when required. Additional meetings may be required for Committees and/or as the need arises.

Directors are elected for two-year terms and can serve for a maximum of eight years.

CPF NB operates under a policy governance model and is accountable to its membership. Daily operations are delegated to the full-time position of an Executive Director. The Board of Directors is responsible for the oversight of the organization, pursuant to CPF NB By-laws.

If you are interested in being considered by the Nominations Committee, we would love to hear from you! Please email Austin Henderson, President, at austin_henderson15@hotmail.com and Jane Keith, Vice-President, at jane.keith@freedom55financial.com by Saturday, November 12.

Canadian Parents for French (CPF) is a national network of volunteers who value French as an integral part of Canada. CPF is dedicated to the promotion, creation and support of effective French-Second-Language learning opportunities for youth in Canada. Canadian Parents for French New Brunswick (CPF NB) is the provincial Branch of CPF.

CPF NB is currently accepting applications for candidates to serve on its Board of Directors. If this is you, or someone you know, we would love to hear from you! There is currently, pursuant to CPF NB’s By-laws, vacancy for up to one (1) Director on the CPF NB Board.

Interested applicants are encouraged to submit their interest, accompanied by a short letter indicating their interest in serving in a governance capacity with CPF NB, as well as their qualifications, to the following people no later than Saturday, November 12. Please note that the current Board composition does not require additional board members, but interested members are encouraged to submit their interest.

Following expressions of interest, a list of eligible candidates will be determined by the nominating committee.  At the Annual General Meeting, to be held via Zoom on November 24, Directors will be elected via secret ballot. Upon ratification of the Board of Directors, executive positions (President, Vice-President, and Treasurer) are voted upon by the Board of Directors at the first meeting of Directors following the AGM.

Thank you for your interest in CPF New Brunswick!

All applicants must be current CPF NB members in good standing (not a member yet? No worries! You can sign up here today).

All applicants must be residents of the Province of New Brunswick.

While experience in these domains are not required, applicants are encouraged to identify if they have expertise or background in the following sectors or experiences. This will be used to assess candidates based on current gaps within the current Directors:

Financial management and fiscal oversight;

Legal expertise (policies, by-laws, charitable designation, NB Companies Act, Canada Not-for-Profit Act, etc.);

Parent/guardian of students in FSL programs;

Experience volunteering with CPF at a local/chapter level;

Experience serving in a governance capacity for not-for-profit organizations.

CPF NB is committed to ensuring that the Board of Directors represents the diversity of New Brunswick and CPF NB members. Applicants are encouraged to self-identify if they belong to an underrepresented group (including, but not limited to: age, gender identity, sexual orientation, Indigenous identity, visible minority identity, population group, disability, language, etc.)
